How to enter the weekly Instagram giveaway for a gift card
A GUESS gift card turns a social media promotion into something you can enjoy online or at a counter, but entering the weekly Instagram giveaway for a gift card works only when every instruction is followed. Start with the live post on GUESS’s official Instagram account, read the linked official rules, and confirm the closing time in Australian time. Prize value, entry method and winner notification can change from week to week, so the current promotion’s details take priority over general advice.
Instagram can make the process look quicker than it is. A tap on a participation button may still open a form, while a comment can need an exact hashtag, a mention and a public account. Australian entrants often complete these steps on a phone over mobile data, so check that the promotion, terms page and confirmation message all load on the same device. If something is unclear, pause rather than guessing; a missing tag or closed form can make an otherwise valid-looking entry count for nothing.
Find the official giveaway
The giveaway should be found through GUESS Journal’s promotions content, the official GUESS Instagram profile or a direct link from one of those sources. Look for the current weekly post rather than an older campaign image. Check the account badge, link destination and wording of the rules, especially if the entry arrives through a tagged post or paid advertisement. A genuine promotion should explain what to do and where to read the terms.
| Entry format | What it usually involves | Details to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Comment on a post | Leave an original comment, possibly with a mention or tag | Exact wording, number of people to tag and any character limit |
| Share to Instagram Story | Post a public Story mentioning the brand | Required hashtag, account mention and availability of any link sticker |
| Participation button | Tap the in-app button and confirm participation | Whether a separate form or further action is required |
| Linked entry form | Open a secure GUESS page and submit details | Matching name, email address and separate consent choices |
These are common formats, not a promise that the current promotion asks for every action. Use only the format specified in the live post. If it asks for a comment, submit one original comment in the correct campaign post; if it asks for a Story, include the exact mention and hashtag. When the method is unclear, treat the written official rules as controlling and contact GUESS through its published support channel before the deadline.
Visual campaigns often appear first in a feed and then circulate through shares, so understanding how visual content spreads can help separate a recognisable creative from an authentic promotion. Check the URL before participating and avoid a lookalike account asking for payment or login details. The giveaway should never require your Instagram password, an entry fee or sensitive financial information. Keep a copy of the post and rules, particularly the prize description and end date, because feed content can be edited or replaced.
Check eligibility and prize details
First, confirm that you meet the entry rules. A promotion may set a minimum age, require an Australian resident to enter, exclude employees, contractors or recent winners, or specify that an Instagram account must be personal and active. Some promotions accept only public accounts, while others require a business or creator account for a tagged entry. Read the definitions as well as the main instructions; terms such as “new follower” or “valid entry” can carry a specific meaning.
Next, convert the deadline into your local time. A post that closes at 9:00 pm may use Australian Eastern Time: Sydney and Melbourne usually identify it as AEST or AEDT depending on daylight saving, while Brisbane uses AEST. Adelaide uses ACST or ACDT, Darwin uses ACST and Perth uses AWST. Australian dates are written day-month-year, making an end date such as 24/08 unambiguous to local readers. Allow time for upload and processing delays, and check whether the deadline is based on when your comment or Story is submitted rather than when it appears on screen.
Finally, understand exactly what the prize includes. Australian shoppers should check whether the value is stated in AUD and whether GST is included, because a gift card balance is not automatically cash and may be subject to activation, minimum spending, exclusions or expiry. Confirm whether it works online, in participating stores or both, and whether a physical card is posted or a digital code is emailed. The rules should also state the selection method, winner notification process and any conditions that apply if the prize is unavailable.
Complete the Instagram entry
Complete the entry in the order set by the promotion. A campaign might ask you to follow the official account, like a post, leave a comment, tag another person, share a Story and press a participation button. These are separate requirements, even when they appear together. Use the exact spelling of the account handle and hashtag, including any capitalisation specified, and publish your comment on the designated post rather than an older version. If a form requests contact details, enter them consistently and use an email address you can access.
Originality can matter as much as following the instructions. If the brief welcomes a creative comment, a cheeky Australian line may suit GUESS’s brand voice, but relevance matters more than a joke that misses the question. Keep the response within any character limit, avoid copying answers posted by other entrants and do not submit the same generic message repeatedly. If you must tag someone, obtain their permission first and only tag people who are genuinely connected to the prompt. For a Story entry, confirm that it remains public until the promotion closes.
Never buy extra entries, create multiple accounts or use automation unless the official rules expressly allow it. Multiple comments may disqualify an entry just as easily as no comment, so check before trying again. The Marciano creative process offers a useful view of the polished imagery behind GUESS campaigns, but style alone does not authenticate a giveaway. Return to the official profile and linked rules, and look for a clear submission confirmation before considering the entry complete.
Follow the brand between draws
Staying close to GUESS’s official account makes the next promotion easier to find. Follow the profile, enable notifications for selected posts and check Stories and highlights, where event details and campaign reminders may appear before a feed post. Brand content also connects campaigns with fashion editorials, store experiences and denim culture. The global celebration and styling ideas featured in Denim Day Europe show how a denim theme can travel from an event to everyday wardrobes and online communities.
Local retail geography can provide useful clues about which events and campaigns are current. Shoppers in Sydney might encounter GUESS campaign content around Bondi Junction, Melbourne followers may notice it near Chapel Street or the CBD, and Adelaide and Brisbane customers may see announcements connected with Rundle Mall and Queen Street Mall. Event coverage can reveal whether a visual belongs to an active giveaway, but the Instagram post and official rules still control entry. Unless the promotion specifically says otherwise, attending a store event is not a substitute for making the required online entry.
The GUESS List loyalty program and marketing updates can keep you informed about events, but joining is not automatically part of entering. If an entry form separately offers loyalty registration or promotional emails, read each consent box before continuing. Entry permission and marketing consent should be treated as separate choices, and declining optional messages should not affect a valid entry when the official rules say so. This separation is particularly useful for Australian customers who want to follow campaigns without receiving unnecessary retail or email promotions.
Enter the current weekly draw
Before submitting, run a final check. Confirm that you are using the official account, that the post is the current weekly promotion, that you meet the age and residency conditions, and that every required action has been completed. Recheck the Australian closing date and time, make sure any mention or hashtag is exact, and verify that the post is still accepting entries. If the promotion generates a reference number or confirmation screen, save it along with a screenshot of the completed entry.
After entering, monitor the email address associated with your Instagram account and the official account’s direct messages. Depending on the campaign, the winner may be announced publicly, contacted through Instagram or sent an email containing claim instructions. Keep track of any deadline for accepting the gift card. A prize-release fee, request for your password or request to purchase another gift card is a warning sign; contact GUESS through an official channel rather than paying or sharing information. Entries also do not carry into future weeks unless the rules expressly state that they do.
When you are ready, open the official GUESS Instagram account and locate the current weekly Instagram giveaway for a gift card. Read the linked terms, check the Australian closing time and complete every required action before submitting. Make your entry genuine, retain the confirmation and return to the official account for the draw or winner announcement. Enter now and give your entry the best chance of being valid.
